Shin Shield Trailer Hitch Guard

shin shield protects against trailer hitch injuries

Just about everyone who has had a trailer hitch installed on their vehicle has likely screamed in agony at least once after striking their shin or knee-cap on the ball/receiver.

A simple remedy involves the installation of the Shin Shield. This protective device is made from a special polymer that the manufactures claims will remain soft even in temperatures as cold as -40 C.

Although, not a “one size fits all” product, Shin Shield securely installs between the ball and most standard 2.5 inch (class 5) receivers that are rated for up to 17,500 pounds (7,950 kg) of gross trailer weight and 1,700 pounds (800 kg) of tongue weight. In order to ensure the Shin Shield will fit your particular hitch receiver you will need to measure your hitch receiver. If your hitch receiver measures more or less than approximately 2 1/2 inches, the Shin Shield will not fit your receiver. Other Shin Shield sizes will be available in the near future.

You can own one for $20 US. For more details, please visit their official website.
