It’s True… You Can Walk Your Dog With a Drone

Drones are making dog owners’ lives much easier, making daily walks just one more chore that drones can help with. Whether you’re sick, or it’s too cold to move out from under your blankets, Drones Direct can take your dog out for a walk when you can’t. They have come out with a new drone, the DJI Phantom 4 Dog Drone, that can replace traditional dog walking services!

The DJI Phantom Dog Drone has an advanced GPS system that you can program, so that the drone takes your dog along a set route during the walk, and comes back home at the end of it. The drone also has its own retractable leash that you can attach to your dog’s color, so that the drone can always be in control of your pet. The drone also sends video of the walk to your cell phone in real time, guiding your pet along the route you programmed into the drone earlier.

Walks can last up to 20 minutes, and can travel up to two kilometers. The DJI Phantom 4 Dog Drone has automatic collision avoidance technology to help your pet stay as safe as possible, and the drone hovers at a safe distance about the dog so that the leash doesn’t tangle and so that your dog doesn’t bump into the drone accidentally. You can even use the drone if you feel like going for a jog, you don’t have to be at home or sitting down if you’d like to take advantage of this technology!

The drone itself has four propellers, a retractable leash, a GPS, and a camera that can capture video. It has a base that allows it to land comfortably at the end of the walk, and the GPS follows the route that you program into it. Ultimately, your dog has to be comfortable with the drone to be okay with it taking them on walks; Mark Kelly, the Director of Drones Direct, is a strong believer in his product and thinks that most dogs would be happy to go on a walk with a drone, making it the perfect piece of technology for busy families, or people who are temporarily or permanently disabled and can’t take their dog out as often as they’d like.
