The Hype is On: Leaked Video Shows Possible DJI’s Next Phantom Model

The massively popular drone manufacturing company DJI never fails to capture their fans’ curiosity.

After a rather highly speculative two years regarding the next generation of the Mavic series, DJI surpassed all expectations with their twin drone releases of Pro and Zoom. The reviews are in, and to no one’s surprise, the two drones received high praise from critics and users alike.

Now that the wait for the next DJI Mavic drones is over, fans clamor on to the next hype train – the next generation Phantom model: the Phantom 5.

All Aboard the Phantom 5 Hype Train

The source for all this rumor and speculation is a leaked picture – similar to what started the actual hype for the Mavic drone. The photo looks like a DJI Phantom next generation model – one with upgraded physical aspects that is certainly an improvement from the old one.

The leak includes a number of pictures and even a video, but of course, DJI claims this is but false rumors.

See for yourself if you think the unknown Phantom drone is the real deal. It definitely looks like its predecessor, with only a color shift from the iconic pure white to a more silver-black design. The 15-second video shows off the drone’s parts, which included the camera and some accessories. The camera seems to have interchangeable parts – its lenses to be specific.

Think of it this way – the Mavic hype started with one single photograph with a drone having the mark Mavic 2 on it. This time, a leak shows an entire video dedicated to the drone’s actual existence.

So what do you think? Is this a cruel prank? Maybe it is an actual prototype of the next Phantom drone they are working on? On the other hand, is this even an advanced copy of what is to be released in the near future?

The answer, according to DJI, is a rather simple one. They claim that the video and photos in question is but a modified old Phantom drone built for a customer.

Whether you believe it or not is up to you. Will this be the new Phantom drone? Or will we have to wait a few more years to find out what happens next?
