Take A Look At A New Trend: Sleepover Drones

Here is an odd use for drones that is gaining some traction. Apparently in some clubs, people use drones to go to sleep easier. Yes, these events, which are attended by tens to hundreds of people, go to clubs to get their rest. People bring blankets and pillows from home, pay an entrance fee, and they settle inside sleeping bags while a drone serenades them to sleep.

I guess it’s not the most exciting use for our propeller-powered devices, but apparently it works like a charm. The mass sleepover has a sort of appeal to people who like to be social while also wanting a good night’s rest. While people pack up by the dozens on the floor, a drone flies above them. The drone releases ambient music which facilitates sleep.

Sleepover Drone: How Crazy Is It?

Think of it like a concert. Instead of loud rock music that keeps you awake all night, you listen to relaxing tunes for sleep. The event starts as a drone show, with lights dimming to make the audience relax in their beds. There’s also pamphlets you can read while waiting for the show to begin. The drone show begins, and people ease up to prepare for sleep. The lights, the music, and the roaming drone apparently provides a great ambience.

These events are so effective – and a new experience to boot – that more and more sprout in cities all over the world. People try it out, mostly from curiosity, but others just want to sleep easier. The added bonus of multiple people creates a sort of social aspect to an otherwise private act of sleeping. You get to meet people with similar interests, and you get your social needs before going to bed. I guess it is a decent deal all around.

But of course, the main appeal is its different approach to getting sleep. People always want to try new things out. As for drones, although they probably do not get their full potential out of these events, one can still appreciate their flying abilities. They can fly, barely making any noise, and can project sounds from their speakers. Overall, it’s not the worst way to use a drone, don’t you think?
