Solarpuff – Inflatable And Foldable Solar Lamp

In the last two months, our neighborhood has had two power outages lasting several days each due to wind storms. I’m originally not from North America so I’m quite accustomed to load shedding and having no power for many hours at a time. But having lived here for so many years, I almost forgot what it was like to experience power outages. I already have a very useful Coleman Lantern but another great option is the Solarpuff!

Having an emergency light around the home is always a great idea for those rare occasions when the power goes out or perhaps a sudden storm surprises everyone. What makes the Solarpuff so great is that it is solar charged, compact, and perfect for emergencies and for travel use. The Solarpuff is made out of durable fabric making it relatively tough and it’s even recyclable once it’s time to toss the light. And of course, the entire gadget looks great thanks to its unique design.

The Solarpuff can be folded and is compact enough that it will fit into a back pocket although probably better to keep it in a purse or backpack of some sort. The device needs about 8 to 12 hours of sunlight exposure in order to get a full 8 hours of light. With five hours of exposure to the sun, you will still be able to achieve about 5 to 8 hours of illumination.

The device features ten LED lights which will provide 60 lumen on low setting and 90 lumen on high setting. The the third setting will allow the lights to flash. When fully opened, it measures in at 4 and 1/3″ cube and weighs in at only 2.6oz. When folded flat, it measures in at only 0.25″ thin. The Solarpuff is available for only $30.

If you are feeling charitable, you can also donate a Solarpuff to Syria, Haiti, or Nepal for only $25! How awesome would it be to provide light to someone in need of such a device? If interested, visit the Solarpuff website.
