Smart Watches: To Buy or Not to Buy

The smart watch trend isn’t going away any time soon, when the first smart watch was introduced (or rumored), I had said it’s going to get really big. Sure the Apple Watch hasn’t been as big of a success as everyone had expected, but they still sold loads of them. Smart watches like Apple’s need a bit more development time to make them really useful and more popular. But fortunately, there are lots of manufacturers getting on board and trying new things to make these watches useful.

I think the biggest problem the Apple Watch had was its ridiculous price, who wants to pay $500+ for a digital watch that will be outdated in a year’s time? Not me! But there are more affordable smart watch alternatives that make buying a smart watch attractive. Browse around, you would be surprised.

If you want the functionality of a smart watch, such as answering incoming phone calls, viewing text messages, viewing emails, viewing calendar events, controlling music on your phone, and trigger the camera phone, all from your wrist, then something like the Cogito Unisex Classic watch is the one for you. These watches come in a variety of colors and the best part is, they don’t cost an arm and a leg, you can have one for $179.95.

If you’re fitness minded like me and want a watch to track your activities such as heart rate, distance traveled, calories burned etc. Then the Mota Unisex Smartwatch G2 Pro is for you, reasonably priced at $89.99. The link above also has other types of smart watches, with different functions and styles, they have something to fit pretty much everyone’s taste.

If you’re a traditionalist and prefer the “old school”, non-smart watch, they have you covered. WatchCo has a huge selection of affordable watches from a variety of watchmakers, in a variety of styles for both men and women. The watches range from quartz, solar, mechanical, and automatic, so they have something for everyone. I was personally eyeing some of their fancy clocks for my new place.
