Police Infrared Drone Makes Quick Work Of Car Accident

An incident in England involving a drone is making headlines all over the news. Police responders near Ludborough, a north-eastern English village have used a drones in its operations before.

Recently they have managed to save a car crash victim using their fully maintained drone. The police drone, a DJI Inspire model, had an infrared camera which was detrimental in locating the victim quickly.

Fast Action:

The victim in question was located under a six-foot ditch near the site of the incident. The man would have died of hypothermia if responders had not found him quickly enough.

The victim’s car flipped sideways on the A16 road at 2 in the morning. The victim managed to walk away from the accident, but was however thought to have gone missing.

The police department then launched the drone into the area with the hopes of spotting the person from above. Not long after that he was found about 150 meters from the site of the accident.

This led the responders to an accurate direction, leading to a swift search and rescue operation. The patient was subsequently brought to the hospital for recovery and is currently in a safe condition.

The incredibly fast response time made it possible for the car crash victim to have avoided hypothermia setting in. This event further gives credence to the valuable aid provided by modern technology.

Technology and Emergency Response:

When time is of the essence, the efficient and swift gathering of data is of paramount importance. A search and rescue through the dark road in England would have proved the operation futile if it were only rescuers on foot.

Of course, a drone fully equipped to handle multiple scenarios can make data gathering a breeze. With the fast launch time of the police department’s drone, the collection and analysis of data went by smoothly. This led to a highly effective rescue operation and of course, the closing of a case without any issues.

Drones have become more and more available to the public and private sectors. This transforms mundane and routine tasks into a more technological approach. This leads to more efficiency in the field, more time saved, and most importantly, more lives saved.
