Lord of the Rings Bag End Bonsai Tree

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is among the top movies in any geek’s favorite movies list; there are thousands of LOTR themed items available in the marketplace, from action figures to full blown hobbit houses and pubs.  Here’s something a little different, a Lord of the Rings Bag End Bonsai Tree.

If you’re reading this post, I’m sure you’re familiar with Bag End, but in case you’re not, Bag End is the house where Bilbo and Frodo live; the house was built by Bilbo’s father Bungo Baggins.  It’s the house where the LOTR and the Hobbit movies begin and end.

Bag End Bonsai Tree

The Lord of the Rings Bonsai tree is created by Chris Guise and features a pretty cozy little hobbit house right under a tree.  Now I know hobbit house are small, but this house is even too small for a hobbit.  Zoolander’s famous quote “What is this? … A center for ants?” comes to mind.

The Bag End bonsai tree house makes use of wood for the fence, roofing tiles for the red bricks, and florists’ Oasis for filler on the hill, which also helps absorb water from the tree.  The door to the house comes with a brass knob and there’s even a miniature broom stick to rake up leaves.  The tree is a real bonsai tree, giving the scene a very realistic look.  Via: Bonsai Empire

      • I’m aware this is over 10 years late – but no they’re not for sale sadly! It’s a one-off made by my Dad as a hobby – its a little neglected these days as maintaining something like this for over 10 years is a LOT of work and the wooden fence posts and moss etc get eroded by the constant watering and the weather – but in case you were wondering it’s still around and still looked after!

        • Thanks for the update, glad it’s still alive. I’ve started a few of my own bonsai trees, killed most of them, I’m particularly sad about one from 2017 that my niece and I started from seed, but I over-pruned it last year and it got killed.
