Land Rover Defender Pedal Car

Although I’ve never owned an SUV, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes-Benz G Class, or the Land Rover Defender. But at the same time, it would be a real shame owning such a capable vehicle and never being able to actually use it for its intended purpose, going off road. If I can’t own it, perhaps my future child might get a kick out of the Land Rover Defender Pedal Car Concept.

The Defender Pedal Car Concept made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. Although currently labeled as a concept, it is actually set to go on sale in the spring of 2016 to celebrate over 60 years of Land Rover Defender production. The pedal car featured at the Frankfurt Motor Show features a rolled-edge aluminum frame with an individual chassis number.

The exterior paint is finished in the same Loire Blue that’s used on the full-size Defenders. And unlike your average pedal cars, these Defender pedal cars come with a leather wrapped steering wheel and leather trimmed seats. It also comes with a spring suspension working brakes, and even a parking brake. Linday Weaver, Director of Branded and Licensed Goods for Jaguar Land Rover, stated:

This is both a wonderful collector’s piece and children’s toy. It demonstrates our ability to produce goods with world class quality and attention to detail that can emulate our world class Jaguar and Land Rover cars.
