The original Tap was created to replace a keyboard and quickly became popular for their futuristic wearable keyboards. They have now introduced the Tap Strap 2 which is a keyboard, an air mouse and a smart TV control. It’s the first tool ever that allows users to control media through gestures alone, for their everyday use devices. The Tap Strap 2 can be connected to any Bluetooth device and allows you to control with simple hand gestures. The Tap Strap 2 works in three different modes. In the Mouse Mode, you can control the cursor, click and scroll just like you would do using a regular mouse. In the Multimedia Mode, you can use air gestures to play and pause music, adjust volume, and skip tracks. In the third mode, Smart TV Mode, the device can be used to navigate menus, search for content and select items.
The Tap Strap 2 is intuitive and no complicated gestures need to be used. The Tap Strap 2 uses on-board intelligence to know which interaction the user is going to use. For instance, if a user’s hand is horizontal, the Tap Strap 2 becomes a keyboard. When the thumb rests on a surface, it switches to mouse mode. And if you rotate your hand vertically, the Strap 2 will switch into AirMouse Mode. Although the Tap Strap 2 can be used with any Bluetooth enabled device, it has more enhanced support for iPad. This will let you control it in an easier way than using a regular mouse. It offers iOS relevant functions that are not supported by mice like horizontal swipes, launching the app switcher and switching back to the home screen.
The Tap Strap 2, in comparison with the original Tap Strap, has more design improvements such as a longer battery life (10 hours), has a new thumb ring glider, enhanced mouse optics and better soft surface recognition. It also has a added multimedia controls and a ‘selfie’ tap function. The Tap Strap 2 is available for $199 on Amazon or TapWithUs.com.
