Recycling is finally starting to gain momentum although the movement has been around for ages now. Disposable plastic straws are something most people don’t even give a second thought to yet they are a major problem. There are enough straws used everyday in the United States alone to wrap around the earth 2.5 times. Yes, 2.5 times around the earth every single day just from the US! That’s insane! The FinalStraw is the world’s first reusable and collapsible straw and is currently being funded on Kickstarter.
The funding campaign is already off to a great start. Their goal was to raise $16,052 (Canadian dollars) and they are currently at over $1 Million dollars. The FinalStraw is constructed from stainless steel (the body) and medical-grade TPE (the tubing). The straw is collapsible and folds right into a case made from 100% recycled ABS. The FinalStraw also comes with a cleaning squeegee. The case can be used as a keychain so you’ll never leave home without your fancy new straw.
A pledge of $20 will get you one FinalStraw and a case which is available in green, grey, coral, and blue. The product will ship in November of this year.
