Can Drones Counter the Coronavirus?

The world is currently in the midst of a potential virus outbreak. The Novel Coronavirus is a very dangerous pathogen contracted through droplets, usually via coughing.

Because of this, medical personnel recommend wearing masks when going through crowded areas. Those who deal with multitudes of people regularly are at risk of contracting and spreading the virus.

Coronavirus Scare

People must therefore avoid being in close contact with those showing symptoms. In general, dealing with a large number of people can put you at risk. With all the recent virus scares, people now avoid crowds as much as possible. Even when dealing with deliveries, the idea of strangers dropping off the package can be threatening. However, thanks to modern technology, a solution may fix this issue entirely.

A Flying Solution

Drone deliveries remove this issue entirely. With drone deliveries, you get zero interaction with other people. The drone simply flies to your area, drops it off at your doorstep, and you are all set. Drones are completely autonomous, meaning you will never directly interact with a person during the entire process. This means contracting the Coronavirus is an impossibility.

These drone delivery programs grow with each passing day. New areas, companies, and countries have started integrating the concept into their traditional deliveries. The question is, will drones overtake the old guard?

A Future of Flight

Drones prove to be more efficient when delivering packages. Apart from its efficiency and lack of necessary manpower, drones are also faster and can reach more places. A drone can go from point A to B at a faster pace, since traffic and other road issues are not a problem. Human error is also prevented. Issues such as improper handling, delayed deliveries, and stolen goods may soon vanish with the traditional method.

Could this virus scare lead to more areas opting for drone deliveries? What do you think? Is drone delivery the future?
