As a teenager I tried to build those do-it-yourself model cars but most of the time I couldn’t figure out where all the engine parts went and never had a completely finished model car. I may however give the Powershovel PlaModel DIY Camera kit a shot. It doesn’t look too complicated, at least in the pictures.
The DIY 35mm camera kit comes with all the parts you’d need to have a working camera; it even comes with its own screwdriver so you don’t have to turn the house upside down looking for one. According to the sales page, it should take you less than 2 hours to assemble, so in other words, plan to do it in 4 hours. If put together correctly, the camera should be functional, it uses standard 35mm film rolls and doesn’t need batteries.
