With depleting resources of fresh water, more and more emphasis is placed on water conservation. One fundamental conservation goal in many communities is universal metering. One would be unable to waste water unless they are willing to pay the extra charges. New technology are being developed reduce water consumption and waste. Automatic faucets are being used in many public restrooms to conserve water.

When you travel, packing and unpacking is always a huge problem. Most of the times, it is hard to find what you are looking for. And often, you make a mess of that well folded and creased stuff in the process.

As we grow old, our mobility becomes more and more challenging, Stairs become the worst enemies. There are home lifts in the market but most of them are bulky, ugly, noisy and awfully slow. Additionally they require home renovation that is not in sync with the general architecture of the house

Solar panels are generally hard and fragile. Recently efforts have been made to make them more pliable, breathable and flexible. Such materials have been used in stadium covers, carports and even wearable art where roughness of the fabric does not make much difference. However, to make them into wearable fabrics has always been a challenge.

Generally chemical substances are used as Herbicides, or weed killers, to control unwanted plants in garden and backyards. However these have gradually fallen out of favor due to their persistence in soil, and toxicity and groundwater contamination concerns. Since herbicides cause a variety of health effects ranging from skin rashes to even death, some can even be transported via leaching or surface runoff to contaminate groundwater or distant surface water sources. Therefore, attention has been focused on the development of non-chemical herbicides. Weed killers that utilize heat and steam are in the market but most of those do not eliminate the roots which cause the weeds to reappear after some time.
