Seabob F5 S – Compact High-Performance Water Craft

We’ve all heard of the legendary Sea-Doo watercraft but have any of you heard of the Seabob? Chances are you most likely have not but the company is hoping it’s the next big thing in personal watercraft. And when they say personal, they mean it. The Seabob F5 S is a personal high-performance watercraft weighing in at just 35 kilograms. So it’s not something you can carry around all day but definitely light enough to carry for short distances.

The Seabob F5 S an impressive propulsion force of 680 newtons and its E-Jet Power System controlled in six different power levels. The lower gears allow users of the Seabob to glide along the water at a relaxed pace while the higher gears from fourth to sixth are for those who enjoy an adrenaline rush and are not afraid of high-speed driving and diving. The water craft is extremely maneuverable and it can even be used in a larger pool complexes.

While using the craft on the surface of the water, it can reach speeds of 20km/h while underwater speeds of 15km/h. The electric motor is 4.0kW (5.3 horsepower) and a thrust of 680N. It takes approximately eight hours to fully charge the battery which will give you 60 minutes of continuous use. With the “Safety On”, you can take the Seabobo F5 S underwater to depths of 2.5 meters but if you want to go much deeper, simply turn the safety mode to “Off” and you can now swim with the dolphins. Believe it or not, you can actually dive down to 40 meters underwater and hang out down there if you want. Only problem would be the oxygen situation but that’s an easy fix thanks to scuba gear.

The Seabob looks awesome but the only problem I see with the water craft is the price. The Seabob F5 is available for $9,000 and the Seabob F5 S is available for $12,380. For those prices, you can buy a very nice Sea-Doo jet ski. I know these water crafts are not really comparable but if you were to spend that much money on a water craft, would it be the Seabob or Sea-Doo? Check out the Seabob website for all the details.
