Phiaton PS 20 NC Earphones (Noise Canceling)

When I travel, it’s usually done by airplane. And as we know, airplanes can be pretty loud, especially if you are seated close to the engines. One of my solutions for airplanes is to use noise canceling headphones or earphones! I would normally suggest the Bose QC15 but they can be bulky so one of travel choices is the Phiaton earphones. The PS 20 NC by Phiaton are small and the noise-canceling technology it features can usually be found in earphones which are larger and more expensive. The noise canceling unit uses one AAA battery which is included with the PS 20 NC earphones and the noise canceling unit is actually not much bigger than the AAA battery itself. There is a clip which can be used to secure the noise canceling unit to your jacket, shirt, or pants. Available for $95 on Amazon.

SteriPEN Ultra

steripen ultra for water

In the past, I’ve had the misfortune of drinking “bad water” which cause my stomach much havoc. What was more surprising is that it was actually “bottled” water. My guess is that it was a re-purposed water bottle filled with tap water or something along those lines. Either way, I wish I had known about the SteriPEN Ultra. This device is an effective way to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa in as little as 48 seconds. The SteriPEN Ultra uses an OLED display which indicates the treatment and battery status.

The device uses a UV lamp to kill bacteria. A full charge is able to disinfect 100 0.5-liters batches or 50 1-liter batches. It can do a total of 8,000 one-liter treatments. Available for $99.95 at www.steripen.com

FitBit Zip

FitBit Zip

My wife recently picked up the FitBit Zip which is a great way to keep track of your steps, distance, and calories burned. All these details will either sync with your computer or smart phone. This device encourages you to set goal, challenge your friends, and achieve your health goals one step at a time. For the time being, my wife’s goal is walk at least 10,000 steps per day which is not an easy task when you’re stuck at a desk all day. This is a great way to challenge yourself! Another feature I like on the device is that it will tell you which times of the day were most active and how much time was spent in total being active for a particular day. The FitBit Zip is available in white, black, green, pink, and blue and will set you back $59.95 at www.fitbit.com.
