I recently got to try the Moonpod and I have so much to say in my Moonpod Review. Have you tried one of these? If you need a comfortable place to chill out or you need a good place to relax and unwind, this might be for you.
Take heed, this is a fairly expensive solution but you might just determine that it is truly worth it. If you’re not looking at it for the comfort and various benefits and you see the price tag, you will certainly scoff. If that’s you, you might consider just buying a beanbag or lounge chair of some sort.
If you haven’t heard of the Moonpod yet, it’s best described as a bean bag on steroids. But it is really so much more. This “bean bag” was designed to be ultimately relaxing and even therapeutic in a sense.
John Fiorentino is the creator of the Moon Pod, which pairs well with a previous design of that you might be familiar with – the weighted blanket. It has multitudinous purposes in reality. Like I said earlier, if you just want a simple lounge chair you might find this one too expensive.
That said, there are some things you should know about just how great the Moon Pod really is. This is not your everyday bean bag chair. The beads inside are high-quality EPS beads that are designed to last pretty much forever.
This chair is a memory-foam style that was designed to feel and work similarly to flotation therapy. It forms to your body structure when you lie or sit in it and the zero-gravity design allows you to use it for reclining, lying down, or lounging.
If you suffer from any type of stress or anxiety in your life or if you tend to have aching joints, this furniture piece claims to improve those things. If you lie down on your back, you feel as though you are floating. You sink right into the beads without just sinking to the floor like many beanbag chairs.
You will see many comments comparing this to a beanbag chair but the truth is this chair is on a whole other level. It just simply resembles a beanbag chair. John outdid himself with this design that is MEANT to help relieve anxiety and stress and ultimately help you sleep.
I have a few pros and cons for this chair:
- The Moonpod is therapeutic both physically and emotionally/mentally.
- The beads feel like memory foam and conform to your body no matter how you use the chair.
- You don’t have to lay down, you can sit, recline, lounge, or lie down.
- The lining is made with sustainable materials. It unzips and comes off so you can machine wash it.
- The Moonpod is not huge or bulky. It’s relatively small and lightweight so easy to store or move around.
- The Moonpod is pretty expensive, ringing in around $400.
- This chair only comes in one size so you may feel like it’s not big enough.
- Moonpod doesn’t accept returns but does offer a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.
The really nice thing about this chair is that even though it is expensive, it maintains its overall value. The chair is made to last a lifetime, at least for the beads on the inside. I am not sure if the liner will withstand normal wear and tear forever.
You don’t have to worry about the Moonpad becoming flat or losing its shape, just like memory foam it reverts back to normal shape each time you step away from it.
Overall, the Moonpod is a really great investment if you need a comfortable, versatile seating area. However, it is definitely an investment you may have to save or plan for. It seems to be quite worth the expense if you value comfort or if you need relaxation or calming therapy in your life.
