It is not based exactly on Salvador Dalí’s theory of “softness” and “hardness”, which was central to his thinking at the time, but this inexpensive timepiece creates a surreal optical illusion with its cool, chrome clock.

The fluidity of time is manifest in its design as it appears to be melting and transforming right off the edge where you place it for display. This is a real timepiece which accurately displays time and at the same time giving the observer an impression that time is fluid.

Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by tricks where something or somebody would suddenly rise without physical means and seemingly break the laws of gravity. I watched with great interest magicians levitating or floating cards, pencils, finger rings, and other small objects or even levitating people, live animals and sometimes even cars in big stage illusions. Even now when I understand the whole mechanism of levitation I am still amazed by them and would love to have a gadget or toy that would produce a gravity defying effect.

Only the other day I was just joking about these new gadgets and apps appearing every day. What’s next? Is it going to be a sleeping bag with a shower; well maybe that’s too farfetched, but the “Road Shower” is probably the closest thing to that, that an outdoor enthusiast can get. It can be easily mounted on a car rack and can hold up to 5 gallons of water.  Pressure can be applied by a simple bike pump and water be heated with a solar panel. It can not only freshen you up at the end of the day, but can be used to clean your muddy boots, bike and other camping gear. The idea of getting rid of his pocket watch for a wrist watch would have flabbergasted great grandpa even more than it will amaze you if you are told to wear a ring watch that doesn’t have conventional dial or hands instead of your wrist watch.

This unique and somewhat chunky ring is made up of three surgical steel rings, each for hours, minutes, and seconds. The rings have a choice of blue or orange LED lights that light up on a twisting action to show you the time of the day.  To keep the battery usage to a minimum the LED lights only light up when you twist the outer ring to display time.

These days almost all Building Codes require that smoke alarms be installed in buildings, especially in areas where people sleep. It may not be rocket science, but clipping nails has always been a stressful job for me. I don’t remember a single time when I haven’t cut a cuticle during the process.
