It’s a bit of a scary thought, isn’t it? That right now you might be being watched doing whatever you’re doing. We’re not talking about a stalker following you around, we’re talking about the people who might be watching you through the internet. It’s so common for phones, internet accounts, and any devices to be hacked, believe it or not. If it hasn’t happened to you yet, your turn might be just around the corner. For some reason, there are people working tirelessly out there, trying to get into as many internet accounts as they can. The result of which is panic on the internet, or it should be. A lot of people are oblivious to the fact that some people want their details, and some are careless with how they use their details. So, we want to try and show you how you might be being watched at the minute, and how you can stop it.
Online Hackers
Yes, online hackers are real, and they’re doing all they can to access data that others are spending so much time trying to protect. This mainly only happens to big companies, who are housing millions of customer details. Hackers want it as they’re able to sell the details, or get the company to pay them out, in order for the details they’ve stolen to not be used. They could be accessing other accounts that customers have with the details they’ve stolen. That’s why it’s really important now for companies to not house passwords of customers anywhere. It’s the one bit of information that they might use for different accounts, making them vulnerable. If you want to personally keep yourself safe, make sure that you’re using a different password for each new account that you make. If you can remember, you should also try and update the passwords you use as often as possible.
Public Wi-Fi
It all depends on what you’re doing on the public Wi-Fi, but you’re generally not safe. Anyone can hack into it as it doesn’t have as many firewalls or protections against it, meaning that anybody can see what you’re doing. If you’re just scrolling through ASOS trying to see what clothes you can buy, there’s not much of an issue here. But if you’re logged into Facebook for example, you’re just opening yourself up for a hack. You should try using a vpn to make sure your connection is secure. There are websites that will allow you to connect via a vpn, no matter where you are. It’s an encrypted way of accessing the internet, meaning it’s going to be much harder to for your information to be cancelled.
Conspiracy Theories
There are many conspiracy theories going around that you’re being watched no matter what. If you’ve ever scrolled through Facebook and noticed an advert for something you were just looking at through the internet, you probably have been watched. Although Facebook deny anything, there are people that believe they’re watching everything you do.
