Blow Some Steam with the Bowling Ball Mortar

Sometimes life can get hectic, stressful, annoying, and so much more. Sometimes you just want to blow off some steam by doing something you probably should not be doing. It’s okay, we all have those days. For me and some of the people I know, we relieve stress by doing things others would consider dangerous. Things like going to the shooting range for some target practice or maybe you want to step it up a notch and blow stuff up? Nothing wrong with blowing things up as long as you do it safely and far away from the public. The Bowling Ball Mortar Cannon is one of those things that’s guaranteed to relieve some stress and get your adrenaline pumping.

Why make a bowling ball mortar?

It’s pretty self-explanatory, the cannon shoots bowling balls. They call it a ‘mortar’ because of the high angled trajectory.  The Bowling Ball Mortar Cannon is capable of launching a 15-pound bowling ball up to a mile with only three-ounces of cannon powder. I’m not exactly sure if ‘cannon powder’ differs from ‘black powder’. The cannons are legal in the United States. I’m not too sure how the Canadian or European governments would feel about these “toys”.

The Bowling Ball Mortar Cannon weighs in at 82-pounds and features a 20″ barrel. The outside diameter of the barrel is 9.25-inches and inside diameter is 8.75-inches. The powder chamber measures in 2″ x 2″  and the maximum powder charge is 3.5oz. The ball hang time and range will vary depending on angle, weight of the ball, powder charge, and even weather. The cannons are built by Coaches Club Cannons and they have a variety of products. The Bowling Ball Mortar Canon is available for $1545 USD.

The company also offers cannons that can launch golf balls or billiard balls. The entry-level cannon is priced at only $195!
