Those grunts over at GruntvillE got their grubby hands on a Micro-Cool NorthPole NB and MOSFET Cooling Kit and, in usual GruntvillE style, manage to tell you everything you need to know, and a few things you didn’t think to ask.
“Looking closer at the northbridge heatsink itself, I almost thought that, minus the size, it could possibly be a relative of the OCZ Gladiator line of coolers. With the aluminum shroud bolted to the solid copper base, it was almost like déjà vu. Removing the 4 mounting screws and pulling away the shroud, we get a good look at the solid, copper core. One thing for sure, the core is no slouch when it comes to weight. If it wasn’t for the smaller dimensions, it could almost pass as a CPU heatsink.â€
