The Future of Augmented Reality

With the rise of new games out on the market for smartphones and the development of brand new technology, it is easy to get lost in a sea of information. Many people are embracing new technology at a quick pace and our lives are being affected by it in many unique and helpful ways. When it comes to information and mobile gaming, augmented reality is just now seeing a rise in interest and integration. We are going to be seeing the line between the virtual and reality blur in relation to our every day lives, our information and our games in the very near future.

Many people love the fact that they can interact with their surroundings in a virtual capacity. Blending of reality with technology stimulates the mind and allows for a lot of flexibility when completing tasks or simply going about a regular day. Games like Pokemon Go and Ingress use augmented reality in very interesting ways. The player encounters creatures and items through their phone but these images can appear as though they are present in real life. This simple mechanic has allowed people to become more engrossed in these games.

When it comes to information, many newspapers and magazines have turned to augmented reality in order to expand their media reach. After opening a magazine or newspaper, the reader may be prompted to use their smartphone or augmented reality capable device to animate words, activate video or bring up additional information about anything on the page in front of them. This can pack a lot of information into a seemingly small space and bring a lot of entertainment value to information sources that people once considered boring or obsolete.

Google glass is another augmented reality project in development. Google is currently working on a headset that will let the viewer take pictures, video and encounter augmented reality as they go throughout their day. Many people who have been lucky enough to test the early stages of this project say that it is very promising and they can’t wait to see what develops next.

Augmented reality is still very young and there are a lot of problems that need to be worked out when it comes to working flawlessly in time with the real world. However, there is still a lot of promise and from what has already been developed, there is a very bright future ahead for people who are into blending technology with the real world. We could potentially see it being fused with businesses such as https://www.shiply.com or in our homes to help us accomplish tasks more quickly and easily. With developing augmented reality technology, the future looks fascinating.
