It is pretty amazing to most people to think this, but computers in general are actually not that old, even though pretty much everyone in the first world has one today. If you don’t have a desktop computer or a laptop computer at home or at the office, for example, don’t forget about your smart phone or tablet device. These are computers too, believe it or not.
The Start of PCs or Personal Computers
Many years ago, people who had computers had PCs or personal computers. These computers that are usually most often known as desktop computers today actually sit on a physical desk or counter top. They are simply too heavy and bulky to hold on your lap like a laptop. But even the laptops from years ago can be cumbersome and annoying because they were so big. Can you imagine playing games on a huge personal computer every time you played?
Computers of all Types Are Getting Smaller
As with most forms of electronics, everything seems to be getting smaller. PCs are personal computers were very large, And even though we still see personal computers our desktop computers today, they are getting smaller and thinner every year.
Now, it seems that things are getting so small that the smart phones you carry around with you and the tablets that you own are becoming the PCs are personal computers of the future. People often no longer even own personal computers or even laptops. They simply use their smart phone or tablet to do all of their computing.
People Are Using Smart Mobile Phones and Tablet Devices for Everything
People are using these devices to talk to friends and family members by phone, video calling technology (Skype or FaceTime), text and email and to keep reminders and notes for themselves. They also use smart phones and tablets to do visual work and make business and personal appointments. They do many other things with them as well. As we have stated in this article, tablet devices and smart mobile phones are definitely becoming the PCs that we used to know back in the day.
Finally, people also use these awesome devices to play games and do fun social things. For example, many use Candy Crush or Words With Friends to unwind at night or take their mind off of the stresses and anxieties of real life at work or at home. If you don’t already have a smart mobile device on hand, make sure that you get one. It could truly enhance your life and make it better.
