How Much Money Does Phil Mickelson Have?

Whether or not you’re an avid fan of any particular sport, certain names and faces start to become familiar over time. You flip on the TV and see they’re playing in a particularly big match or game and the crowds and announcers are going wild. Maybe you notice them giving a speech at a big event or constantly see them on TV commercials.

After a while, you may start to wonder how much these athletes actually make. I started thinking about that recently after seeing an Enbrel commercial featuring Phil Mickelson. I’m not a huge follower of golf, preferring baseball and football, but I do catch the headlines, will occasionally watch a match if it’s on, and even like to play once in a while, myself. I found myself wondering, “How much money does Phil Mickelson have?”

Quite a bit, it turns out! According to Forbes, he’s made over $375 million dollars. All of this despite an announcement in 2010 that he’s being treated for psoriatic arthritis. (That’s what brought about his deal to do commercials for Enbrel; it’s a leading treatment for the painful and often debilitating disease.) He didn’t let his diagnosis get him down and is currently working to score the number two spot for the golfer with the most major appearances. In the number one spot? Jack Nicklaus.

Despite parting ways with his caddie this summer (some speculate that the cause was an argument they had on the 17th hole of the second round of the 2017 Players Championship), Mickelson continues to move onward and upward. There’s no indication that he won’t easily secure a record for number of major appearances and that his net worth won’t continue to skyrocket. Because golf is a sport that can be played well into one’s sixties and seventies, “Lefty” has plenty of time left to accomplish anything he sets his sights on.
