Today’s the day that Google is expected to officially announce its Nexus One Android phone, custom built by HTC.  The details & rumors have been swirling for over two months now, & Google is expected to make some waves today, just two days before CES kicks off.  According to the link above, the press conference is scheduled to begin at 10am PST, so to tide you over until then, why don’t you read Engadget’s official review?  Lots of good stuff in there, including a side-by-side-by-side web browser loading times with the Droid and iPhone.

The Tilt2 is now showing up @ AT&T.  Featuring WinMo 6.5,  a full duplex speakerphone, 3.2 megapixel cam, WVGA tilt-up display, and five-row QWERTY keyboard, it sure is dreamy, but the $350 price tag, with a 2 year contract… I just don’t see myself owning one of these anytime soon.

The AT&T Tilt 2 (aka HTC TouchPro 2) and Pure (aka HTC Diamond 2) should be showing up at AT&T very soon.  Both phones will feature the new Windows Mobile 6.5 and an enhanced version of TouchFLO.  The Touch 2 should carry a price of about $300 after rebates and a 2 year contract and the Pure should run about half that, $150, after rebates and 2 year contract.

The original Tilt and it’s older siblings have been my choice for WinMo phones for the past 5+ years, until I picked up a 3G iPhone, so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with the Tilt 2 in the very near future — perhaps it’ll sway me back over to the WinMo side of the fence.

WMPU has a detailed list of specifications.  The Qilin is now notable not just because China will get the “Firestone” first, but because it’ll be the first HTC device in ages to get a new processor core.  The amount of audio/video extras they’re stuffing into the new TI chip is very impressive, to say the least.  Have we finally seen the last of the Qualcomm MSM72xx chips…?  Let’s hope so…

The gang at the Inquirer got a first hand look at the new Windows Phone UI on a Touch Diamond 2, & managed to get the whole tour on video.  Very Zune’ish.

The gang at AndroidCommunity have posted a bunch of photos and a video of the unboxing of their shiny new Hero.  They’re calling it the best Android device to date.  The lack of a keyboard is a deal-breaker for me, unfortunately.

WMPowerUser has graciously shared the news from MobileSyrup that they’ve posted another video of the CDMA version of HTC’s TouchPro 2′ s 3.5mm headphone jack.  We can only surmise that Verizon’s unit will be getting the same treatment.  I hope the same news arrives for the AT&T launch, but I’m not holding my breath on that one.
