MW2 hack available; good thing they went with IWNet

Looks like Infinity Ward’s move away from dedicated servers hasn’t helped much in the realm of cheating; the, ahem, main goal of the move.

The Call of Duty hacking website has published a video that shows their latest hack in action. The hack appears when activated, shows the position of all players, reduces recoil on the guns and adds aiming/firing accuracy.

Good thing IWNet’s already banning all those hackers!  Oh, wait, they’re not?  Oh.  Moving on then.

Infinity Ward breaks with convention; ditches dedicated servers for MW2

IW developers have declared that online games of the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 will not use dedicated game servers, but rather their own “IWNet” matchmaking service.  DICE, developer of the Battlefield series of PC games, has already stated that there will be no such movement on their end of things.  I definitely foresee the gaming community getting up-in-arms over IW’s decision.
