ASUS to join Acer with Android phone in 4Q

DigiTimes is reporting that ASUS plans to launch an Android-based handset by the end of the year. No details other than a fourth quarter launch. Will it make it to the US? What bands will it support? Will it have a slide-out QWERTY? More questions than answers at this point, but having another major OEM like ASUS entering the market will only mean a brighter future for Google’s smartphone OS.

Faster core speed, wider memory interface, & the most RAM I’ve seen on a desktop video card in a while. The thing looks like a spaceship & will cost an arm & a leg if you’re lucky enough to actually find one of the 1,000 that ASUS is going to produce. Hit the link to see if all those extras actually translate into performance that makes this beast worth triple the amount of a run-of-the-mill GTX295. Lordy… they even ran a pair of ‘em in SLi…

UPDATE: Seems ASUS has scrapped this board for no particular reason — at least no reason they’re willing to share publicly.

The ASUS P6x58 Premium features two USB 3.0 ports moving at 4.8 Gb/sec and SATA 3.0 interface clocking in at 6 Gb/sec. A ton of pics and more specs at XFastest.
