The end of the megapixel race at theTechLounge

The guys over at theTechLounge are decreeing that we're seeing the end of an era in the world of digital photography. No longer shall the myriad of digital camera choices be differentiated by megapixels, but by schmancy "features" that may (or may not) be worthwhile.

"Features such as a digital zoom, acting as a multiplier of the true optical zoom to produce a big number for “total zoom,” or interpolated (up-scaled) resolution - which while bringing lower quality, still carried the illusion of being higher quality because of the higher numbers."
