Vista using 800MB RAM at idle?

This screenshot over at the Inq is initially shocking, but when you think about it, since MS has re-written the way the OS handles memory, it's actually not that surprising. If that machine had been up for any amount of time, and had anything run on it, the memory caches should be pretty significant, & if you look in the screen shot you can see that 589348 K of that total is system cache. Huge memory cache is actually a good sign. The kernel being so large isn't ideal, but this is promising for Vista, I think, especially for servers, where memory cache'ing algorithms are super important.
