Intel deal with Transitive to give Itanium shot in the arm

Intel has chosen Transitive Corp. to help them develop emulation for software designed to run on RISC processors. The emulation/virtualization will be used to get the software running on the Itanium 2 & Xeon platforms.

"The deal, despite being non-exclusive, is being presented as a booster for the Itanium community and an attempt by Intel to fight back against rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. in the high-end computer and server markets."
