nVidia's ActiveArmor dilemma at the TechReport

Geoff over at the TechReport takes a look into what's going on with the ActiveArmor networking feature of nVidia's nForce4 chipset. It seems that nVidia's plans to try to build TCP check-sum'ing into the chipset have come to an end.

"NVIDIA claims the latest ForceWare drivers—6.70 for the nForce4 for AMD and 6.85 for the nForce SLI X16—have resolved ActiveArmor's data corruption issues for good, but the fix comes at the expense of CPU utilization."
