Phoronix is talking about the ATi/XGI merger rumors & whether it may or may not be happening in the near future. The interesting part of the whole deal to me is the fact that XGI is moving towards open-sourcing their drivers, & I'd think that acquiring a developer team like that could be helpful for ATi's Linux driver work.

"Initial reports had stated that ATI would acquire XGI on March 03, 2006, however, that date has since passed and we have seen no public word on this matter or official comments."
