Scott over at TR re-visits the thermal issues that he experienced with Intel's pre-production 955XE chipset board. Intel apparently changed some things with the retail version to get the temperatures under control, but all they really did was to turn up the RPMs on a different HSF. Bottom line?

"If you plan on building a system with a 955XE processor, I'd say an aftermarket cooler is almost a requirement."
