David Lammers at EETimes talks about Intel's 45nm breakthrough, the technology they used to get there, & what it all means in terms of whether or not Moore's Law has hit the wall. Good stuff.

"The doubling in transistor density is key as microprocessor vendors move from two cores to quad-core designs. Nathan Brookwood, microprocessor analyst at Insight64 (Saratoga, Calif.), said Intel's 45-nm process will be used to support quad-core microprocessors coming to market in late 2007 or 2008."
