Lots of security updates to worry about on the wire today. Apple has released Quicktime 7.0.4 in response to this security advisory that details a vulnerability allowing remote code execution. The advisory is rated critical, & you can download Quicktime in the iTunes package here (iTunes is now up to 6.0.2.23). Open source isn't out of the loop today, either. PostgreSQL has issued fixes for a couple of issues; one involving a bug fix, & one involving a patch for a DoS vulnerabiltiy. The fixes apply to several versions of the software: 8.1, 8, 7.4 and 7.3. The new versions are 8.1.2 & 8.0.6, & you can read all about it here. Just when you thought you were comfortable after your WMF patches had applied, MS has rolled out another couple of patches today. One patch deals with malicious fonts... seriously. The other one is targeted at Outlook & Exchange & the way they handle email messages. |
