Got a couple of editorials involving the current state of the gaming industry for you guys today. The first one comes to us from Jon Peddie over at Hexus, who's extolling the virtues of just about every piece gaming hardware available. He says to walk, not run to your favorite store & blow some change on some kind of gaming upgrade, because he thinks it's worth it. The second editorial is over at Designtechnica, where Scott is lamenting the games release schedule which seemingly centers around the holiday shopping season. He doesn't like the fact that it leaves the rest of the year fairly stagnant as far as new game titles are concerned. I understand where he's coming from as far as game sales are concerned, but staggering releases like he's advocating would take cooperation between major manufacturers on a scale the likes of which has never been seen. |
