I know that there are likely a good number of you readers out there who are running one of these modems, so hopefully Motorola will come up with a firmware update sooner rather than later. Of course, the threat isn't all that high, so...

"The vulnerability is caused due to the improper handling of LAND packets (IP packets with the same destination and source IP and port, and with the SYN flag set). This can be exploited to cause a DoS by crashing the device. A physical restart is reportedly required to resume normal operation."
