ATi chipset sales rising; SiS sales falling

SiS has certainly been struggling in these past few years with traditional giants Intel & VIA, & new-comer NVIDIA taking up the majority of the chipset sales market. Now it seems that they'll be falling behind yet another new-comer: ATi. ATi's integrated graphics chipset sales are on the rise in the OEM sector, & with CrossFire hitting the market, overall sales are dealing SiS yet another blow.

"Chipset shipments from ATI Technologies may exceed the eight-million mark estimated by Mercury Research in the fourth quarter, sources at motherboard makers indicated. In contrast, Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) may fail to meet an estimate that the research firm gave for the same period, as an upstream component shortage disrupted its shipments in October, the sources noted."
