Secunia has issued an advisory, rated "moderately critical," which details a flaw in both the retail version & the 1.01 patch of the game. This vulnerability can be exploited to cause a DoS attack, & stems from the game's use of the Lithtech Engine. There is currently no listed solution other than to host games on a trusted network.

"The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the communication handling. This can be exploited to cause a vulnerable server to stop processing UDP traffic by sending a UDP datagram of size 0 or any size between 8193 and 12280."
