The gang over at BFR have written up an article on the role of RSS in MS's next OS release. I watched a video demonstrating IE7 & RSS's integration into Longhorn, & it's pretty much everywhere. For instance, you can import a schedule feed for a conference directly into your Outlook calendar... pretty neat stuff.
