Secure bluetooth not so secure, it seems. New Scientist reports that "Cryptographers have discovered a way to hack Bluetooth-enabled devices even when security features are switched on". Back in April of 2004, Ollie Whitehouse (at the time working for @Stake) showed that hijacking a bluetooth device was quite possible, but his method required that the device to be jacked had to be in the process of pairing. With this new attack, developed by Avishai Wool and Yaniv Shaked of Tel Aviv University, any Bluetooth device can be hijacked at any time. Find out just how surprisingly easy it is [New Scientist] |
