Ok, so installing this Mambot is not much different than installing any other Mambo CMT - with one little exception. You'll need to add a single line of code to the index.php of each template you use on your site.

STEP ONE:

Download the Y!Q Mambot for Mambo distribution.

STEP TWO:

Install Y!Q for Mambo the way you'd install any other Mambot on your system.

STEP THREE:

Add the following lines to the "head" area of your templates index.php file:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"
     src="http://yq.search.yahoo.com/javascript/yq.js"></script>

The Options:

In this release, we've given you a few options to allow for a clean integrated feel. We've also given you a few options to help provide the most relevant results to your visitors.

The first option is Context. The Context option allows you to select which keywords are passed along to Yahoo! We've found that if you write good article titles, the Article Title option provides the most relavant results, but you may find that some of the other options prove to work better for your particular implementation.

Your options are:
  • Article Title - The context is set to the article title.
  • Intro Text - The article intro text is used as the context.
  • Entire Article - Passes the WHOLE article title over to Y!Q.
  • Article Section - The current article section name is sent.
  • Article Catagory - The articles catagory name is sent.
Link Text - Link text is the text that will be displayed and used to activate the Y!Q DHTML.

Link Color - The text color used for the link.

Link Size - The size of the font used for the link.

Background Color
- The color you'd like used as the link background (you can use transparent)

Float Alignment - The link alignment

Custom Text - Text that you'd like displayed within the Y!Q DHTML overlay.

That's all there is to it! Once the Mambot is install and configured the rest is totally automatic. You and your users should start seeing relavant results immediatly.
