After looking at the numbers that the NV40 is putting up, I know that some of you out there in the 3D rendering biz are thinking... when's the Quadro coming?!? Well, I have it on good authority from someone working closely with Nvidia & PNY that the next line of Quadro's incorporating the NV40 chipset is just around the corner, & like the 6800 Ultras, will have 512MB of on-board RAM by year's end.

In case you haven't had the chance to see the current line of Nvidia beasts, the Quadro FX 3000G, here's the product page with a shot. The card is based on the NV35GL chip, takes up two slots & uses a daughter-board. Heh. Stay tuned to geekE for possible shots of a 3-node cluster of dual-Xeon machines running these bad boys in the near future :D
