| WEBppliance violating the GPL license? |

I have been having several discussions with people on web hosting forums about the possibility of Ensim's WEBppliance product being in violation of several GPL license. It is my understanding that they have indeed violated the GPL license so much in fact that their entire product now falls under the GPL. I have already lodged my formal complaint about these violations to GNU but I would love to know what Geek Extreme readers think. Not just about this case in general but about what I see as a general disregard for the GPL license by some software developers. Here are two links of some very interesting dialog on the topic: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56499 http://www.ensim.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002196.html Here is the link to Ensim's site: Here is a link to the GPL license: http://www.opensource.org/licenses/gpl-license.html Here is the link concerning GNU's policy on GPL violations: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-violation.html Thanks, Nick Powers |
