Well, I knew it had to happen sooner or later. Not as many people have taken to the online multiplayer version of the game as they'd thought would, but its certainly become popular. The tournament is to be added to the Extreme World Championships, & will offer $50,000 in cash prizes.

"The Call of Duty tournament will use a 6 versus 6 team format with a maximum of 32 teams allowed; and will be hosted at the Cyberathlete® Extreme World Championships 2004, taking place July 28 to August 1, 2004 in the brand new Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas."
