Bob The Builder - Bob's Castle Adventure
Wednesday, 07 May 2003

BBC Multimedia, the software publishing arm of BBC Worldwide, is publishing 'Bob The Builder - Bob's Castle Adventure' on PC CD-ROM.

Due for August 2003 launch in the UK, 'Bob's Castle Adventure' combines the appeal of the television series with fun and learning in an interactive format. The software's ten activities are being developed in line with the National Curriculum Foundation Stage.

The new title follows the International success of BBC Multimedia's "Bob builds a Park" PC software, "Fix It Fun" title on Game Boy Color, and PC and PlayStation products "Can We Fix It?". These titles are now available in 11 countries around the world, having shipped over a million units worldwide. As well as this sales success, the Bob the Builder titles have won eight industry awards between them.

HIT Entertainment's loveable character, Bob the Builder has become an international phenomena, now shown in over 140 countries worldwide. Aired on BBC ONE since April 1999, the pre-school show has an audience of 1.1 million, and was also the highest rated children's TV show in the USA in 2001.

The series is set in Bob's yard and features a gang of all-talking, all-action building machines: Scoop the Digger, Muck the bulldozer, Dizzy the cement mixer, Lofty the crane and Roley the steamroller.  The owner of the yard, Bob the Builder, runs his own construction business with his assistant Wendy...and of course Pilchard the cat is never far away!

"Bob's Castle Adventure" is based on the latest Bob the Builder video release, 'The Knights of Sir Can-a-Lot', released in the UK on March 2003, which sold over 50,000 units in the first month.

As the software title suggests, children of three years and above are encouraged to help Bob and his construction crew in a series of tasks and challenges set around a medieval castle.

The ten activities, plus an extra four which can be unlocked once the ten are complete, are:

Maze Games
In the maze you can Make A Maze with Lofty, help Bob to Find A Friend, and get your favourite character to Run A Race!

Moat Games
At the moat, join Spud in cleaning up in Spud's Recycling Fun and guide Pilchard safely across the water to his food, in Pilchard's Lunch Run.

Castle Wall Games
At the Castle walls, Robert Fixes Holes - but get the birds out first! Help work out the colour sequence for Dr Mountfitchett's Flags.

Dungeon Games
In the dungeons, try Spotting Spiders, copy those Stepping Stones and go Hunting Keys to find your way out!

After these games have been successfully completed, you will be able to see Bob's Medieval Pageant!

Pageant Finale
Bob's Medieval Pageant -  Animation of the characters at the pageant
Bob's Postcard Parade - Gallery of faces with funny different cutout boards with face holes
Bob Says Good Job! - A personal and tailored certificate for you to print out. Well done!
Bob's Picture Show - See the completed castle grounds with a lively pageant underway and all of the characters having fun
