The publisher has appointed software developer Q&D Multimedia Ltd to the project. Q&D specialises in developing titles for the children's market, and has won awards for its pre-school education and entertainment software. Engie Benjy features Ant and Dec as the voices behind the TV programme's star characters. Dec is the voice behind the star of the programme, Engie Benjy. Ant plays Jollop the dog - Engie Benjy's best friend. Created by award-winning producer and director Bridget Appleby of Cosgrove Hall, Engie Benjy is the story of an engine doctor with striking bright blue hair. Together with his team of Jollop and Dan the van, they have all kinds of amazing adventures with their friends and their extra special vehicles. BBC Multimedia's Engie Benjy CD-ROM will be published in September 2003, and will include a range of interactive games and activities aimed at pre-school children. Dave Lee, BBC Worldwide's Director of Multimedia, said: "We're delighted to be working on an Engie Benjy title.
