Whelp, it was only a matter of time, I suppose. Microsoft is the latest company to make a foray into the online music business, opening their MSN Music store. Yay. What else do we get with this wonderful announcement? How about a new version of Windows Media Player? Yay. Again.

"The software giant quietly raised the curtain for its MSN Music Web site , which offers song downloads for 99 cents. The store also has a home in Windows Media Player 10, which is slated to launch on Thursday."
