This year it’s completely turned around. With the Radeon 9000 series covering the low to mid range and the Radeon 9700 taking care of the high end, ATI are in a very strong market position. With the “delays” of the NV30 which should have been competition to the 9700, NVIDIA are falling a little in the 3D performance game.So at present the fastest performing mainstream 3D cards are the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and the NVIDIA Geforce4 Ti4600.
