Rabid Hardware reviews what they call a "Weird ass cooler", the Zalman CNPS6000CU. It is pretty odd looking..
The Zalman CNPS6000CU comes loaded with goodies. Of course there's the heatsink itself, the 92MM fan with its bracket, Thermal compound, a heatsink applier thingamajobbie to help you get the clip on, and the FanMate - a device that allows you to control the speed of the fan. Right away you can notice this isn't just the regular heatsink design. Zalman designed this heatsink to maximize overall surface area of the fins on this heatsink. The reason Zalman supplies it with a 92MM fan is to minimize noise while maximizing cooling ability. The bottom of the heatsink is nice and smooth and the way the fins are attached to the base is quite neat. All the fins are bolted together at the bottom, which sounds odd but provides great contact between them. |
